Level Up Your Career
Let’s face it, the world of work has a serious relationship with technology. While some of us might be tempted to curl up with a good ol’ filofax, the truth is, shying away from tech could seriously limit your career options. But fear not! This isn’t about becoming a coding wizard overnight. It’s about understanding why embracing digital tools can be your secret to future success.
Technology isn’t just about fancy gadgets. From communication and data analysis to project management and even creative fields, even “non-tech” jobs are increasingly tech-savvy.
It’s really about becoming an efficiency machine. Think about all that time spent on (boring) repetitive tasks – Tech can automate those, freeing you up for the good stuff: creative problem-solving, strategic planning, and putting your unique skills to work.
The ability to learn and adapt to new tech is a major power move in today’s job market. It shows you’re open to growth, willing to embrace change, and ready to tackle whatever the future throws your way. Companies love that kind of forward-thinking spirit!
Before you run off and panic-buy a robot butler, remember that there’s a healthy balance to be struck. Technology is a tool, not a life sentence. Unplug, recharge, and remember, the human touch is still irreplaceable.
My advice is to start small. Pick a skill or application you’d like to learn and break it down into manageable steps. There are loads of (often free) resources out there, from training programs to online courses specifically designed to help people overcome any ‘technophobia’ they might have. Every step you take gets you closer to unlocking your full potential (and it’ll most likley make your life easier).
So, ditch the fear and embrace the future. Technology can be your best friend in the exciting world of work.

Great advice! I do love my old Filofax and I am one of those that takes a little time to adapt, but once I’ve been shown/understand what to do I am happy to go with new methods. It’s the transition that’s hard! 🫣
